We need people who can give us a regular day or two a week to help out in our office with a range of administrative tasks specific to their skills or interests. For example, answering the phone, calling members about specific events and opportunities, working with data, or helping plan events. We even have members who assist with accounting and helping keep in touch with donors. We need volunteers to help out with PHP coding, HTML, upkeep of our site, creation of banners and buttons, data analysis, and even audio and video editing. We're looking for someone who can give us an afternoon a week to keep track of GetUp's media presence and archive articles. All the materials are on hand at the office, come once a week and pour over the paper. We write many submissions to government inquiries on a whole range of issues. We are looking to build a pool of gifted writers who love nothing more than fighting it out with words.We're looking for people who can take a pile of provided synthesised research and on a short time scale could draft submissions in cooperation with the GetUp team. If you have knowledge of parliamentary processes, issues around legislation and governance, and a commitment to building democratic institutions with online technologies then we want you. HowShouldIVote E-Democracy InternWe are rolling our innovative election tool, Howshouldivote, for all future State and Territory elections. This tool matches voters with candidates based on an issues questionnaire - during the 2007 Federal Election, 1% of the voters made use of it!We need help from people who are passionately engaged with Australia's democratic and political processes, and want to make cutting-edge engagement tools available to their fellow citizens.You will work with the Edemocracy Director, and your duties will include - Research on electoral information in States and Territories. - working with our CMS, Sitedock to input electoral information and survey materials. - Correspondence/liaison with stakeholders, including handling candidate surveys. |
