Volunteer with GetUp
We'd love your help!
At the moment, we are looking for help in our Sydney office. We require people who can commit to coming in regularly for at least one day per week over an extended period of time (minimum 3 months). If you are interested, have a look at our list below and please email us with a short intro email about you (feel free to include a CV too if handy) to volunteer@getup.org.au.
Office Admin
GetUp thrives off the help of numerous members who volunteer their time. We need people who can give us a regular day or two a week to help out in our office with a range of administrative tasks specific to their skills or interests. For example, answering the phone, calling members about specific events and opportunities, working with data, or helping plan events. We even have members who assist with accounting and helping keep in touch with donors. If you're based in Sydney and have a regular bit of time on your hands, consider making GetUp part of your week.
PHP Coder
We're on the hunt for PHP gurus! We need volunteers to help out with PHP coding, HTML, upkeep of our site, creation of banners and buttons, data analysis, and even audio and video editing. We'd love people who could give us a regular day a week each week and tackle our web problems.
Photographer
Behind our website and emails GetUp does lots of interesting things and we'd like your help to capture these moments. If you know how to take a good photograph, whether it's your job or your passion (or both!), then we'd love to hear from you! We've got a couple of specific things in mind, but we also have lots projects that will come up over the year that we want to photograph for our members. If this sounds like you, get in touch and help us bring some wonderful moments into the foreground.
Movie maker
Are you into film? Do you love to script, produce, shoot & edit your own movies? GetUp would love to hear from you. We've got a bunch of exciting ideas for movies and clips that we’d like to make and we need you to put this into practice. We're looking for a commitment to drive, execute and complete a project – so you'll be in it from beginning to end. These aren't massive projects, but we’re estimating it'll take about 10 weeks with a commitment of half a day to a full day a week in our Sydney office.
New media techie
We’re always trying to stay on top of the latest trends in technology and to be innovative in the way we use these upcoming mediums. So we’re looking for people with technical programming skills who can help us work out different ways that we can utilise new media. We’re talking understanding APIs, knowing the platforms, being able to tell us ways we could integrate into these into our current work. If you’ve got the technical know-how and a desire to work with upcoming new media, get in touch!
Data cruncher
Do you love statistics? Do you love how data allows us to look at problems and see trends and patterns that are not immediately obvious? We’re looking for people who are good with Excel and who can use it to help us better understand our members.
