Climate need not corporate greed

The most powerful lobby group in Australia - the polluting industries like coal, cement, aluminium and mining - is currently swarming the halls of Parliament, trying to convince Kevin Rudd to allow them to continue to destroy our climate.

Send a message to Kevin Rudd today, before the Government meets with environment groups next Thursday. He's there to represent our interests, not the polluters' - tell him to put climate need over corporate greed.

Dear Mr Rudd,

Our economic and environmental prosperity depend on Australia taking bold action on climate change. We call on you to set an emissions reduction target of 50% of 1990 levels by 2020, and to ensure Australia’s emissions begin declining by 2010.

Let's hit our new target of 40,000!

40,233 have joined this campaign - help us get to 40,000.

We have achieved 100.58% of our goal. Let’s keep going!

Climate Action Now

Monday, 18 May 2009

The Government has announced it's plans to create the largest solar energy plant in the world in the Hunter Valley, NSW.

The move comes after the Government's announcement to delay the Emissions Trading Scheme until 2011, as an attempt to honour their commitment to spend $4.5 billion on reducing carbon pollution and follows calls from the head of the UN for decisive international action on climate change.

Sign our petition calling on the Government to invest in renewable rather than polluting energies.
