We've created a new online fax tool making it easy to fax your local MP or Senator for free.

Just picture the scene in your politician's electorate office. They won't be able to ignore the letters spilling out of the fax machine as hundreds of locals write in about internet censorship.

Tips

It's important you write in your own words - but below are a few points you might like to mention.
  • The filter will give Governments present and future the ability to block information without scrutiny or accountability.
  • No other western democracy has a scheme that goes as far.
  • There are plenty of alternatives - like distributing software to parents to use at home, or making the filter opt-in rather than mandatory.
If your local MP is a Liberal, National or Independent MP it's still really important to let them know how you feel - it's crucial that they oppose the filter. Here are a few additional points to mention:
  • Many prominent Coalition figures including Nick Minchin and Malcolm Turnbull have publicly spoken out against the filter, saying saying it's the job of parents, not the Government, to protect our children online.
  • Internet service providers that participated in the live trial have complained that it was poorly run - some even left the trial early.
