More info

This map uses data from state government departments about the coal seam gas well and bore hole locations (for more information on this, please see the disclaimer), as well as personal stories and incidents submitted by members of the movement against coal seam gas.

Users are invited to submit their personal story to the map and join the movement of people who oppose coal seam gas mining. These stories can be about how their lives are impacted by coal seam gas mining, information about a local community group that is campaigning on the issue, or a message about why they support a halt to the industry and greater regulation.

Users can also report incidents on the map, such as well leaks, damage to surrounding vegetation (tree 'kill'), or water contamination by chemicals.

Contact us: For questions or comments, please contact us on submissions@getup.org.au.
On the right-hand side bar of the map, click 'add your story or incident!' fill in the form and details of your story or the incident, then add a location by typing in the postcode and moving the pin.

When adding your story you can include a photo, a website address, a file and/or a link to a video. Maybe the story is that of a local community action group? Add the website! Maybe it is your personal story of how coal seam gas mining affects you? You can upload your submission to a government inquiry or a map of your property.

Once you've submitted your story/incident, it will be subject to moderation before it is made public. This is in case there is any missing information and to ensure no offensive or inappropriate posts make it to the map. Your name and email address is required in case we need to be in touch about your submission. If you'd like to edit your story once you have submitted it, please contact us on submissions@getup.org.au.

Please note that it is important to provide some evidence if you are reporting an incident, such as a photo or report.

For more information on privacy, please read the Terms of Use.
Well data has been obtained from the relevant state government departments and is not user-generated information (see disclaimers below). However, if you know of any changes to well information - for example that a well has since been plugged - please let us know on submissions@getup.org.au.
