With reports that three container ships of Australian cattle are due to depart for Indonesia today, GetUp is launching radio advertisements to accelerate its campaign to ban the live export of Australian cattle.
The radio advertisements will be launched at a press conference with Andrew Wilkie MP and Senator Nick Xenophon, who will offer further comment on the private members bill to be on Monday 20 June into both houses of Parliament to place a moratorium on the live export of cattle to Indonesia.
The radio advertisement has been booked on national AM and FM stations starting this afternoon (Thursday June 2).

(Audio of animals in distress taken from Animals Australia expose of Indonesian abattoirs) Narration:
This... is the sound of animal cruelty... subsidised by the Australian Government. Right now, equipment paid for by Australian taxpayers is being used in the torture of Aussie cattle in Indonesia.
So far the Government has refused to stop this practice. But today at least 3 boats are being loaded with cattle to be sent to Indonesian slaughterhouses.
So come on Julia Gillard stop the boats today... before its too late.
