Get big polluters out of our politics!
Adani is paying for Government staff to 'independently' oversee its own mine.
The mining giant will pay Isaac Council up to $1.5 million in costs for council employees who will directly assess parts of their coal project.1
And this is only the latest sordid chapter in this country's big book of polluting politics.
The fossil fuel industry and their vested interests are rotting our democracy from tip to root. Their influence makes objective independent political decision making virtually impossible.
If we are to get the real, urgent change we need, we need to clean them out on every level — by stopping policians taking money from, and giving money to, the fossil fuel industry.
Will you sign our open letter to kick big polluters out of our politics?

AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES
To: All our elected representatives at every level of Government,
Our climate is at a crisis point.
Our elected officials have been unable or unwilling to take meaningful action on climate change, because of the huge influence the fossil fuel industry has over our democracy.
Our politicians should be serving the interests of the people they represent — not the vested interests of their political donors.
Our public money should be used to fund services like health, education, and clean energy — not to subsidise fossil fuel projects.
Our public servants should be independent and government funded — not have their wages paid for by direct contributions of huge corporations.
We call on all elected officials at every level of government to stop taking money from, and giving money to, the fossil fuel industry.
