Food Security in Remote Communities
First Nations people living in locked down communities have been forced to break biosecurity laws to travel into larger towns to shop, because their remote community stores can't provide enough essential items.
For years people living in remote communities have been paying up to 60% more for essential items. Now Covid19 has left community members worried about their access to critical supplies.

Everyone deserves access to essential items like baby food, vegetables and toilet paper.
"Remote community residents will go hungry and feel the cold in winter or be forced to travel in and out of biosecurity areas to shop in Alice Springs or Tennant Creek, which puts everyone's health at risk regardless of where they live." - Central Land Council
Food and essential items in remote communities are already too expensive. We need Supply Guarantees and subsidies for remote communities to ensure food access for all Australians.
Sign the petition letter calling for the release of critical funding and establishment of Supply Guarantees and subsidies for remote communities across the country

To Minister for Indigenous Australians Ken Wyatt,
Everybody needs access to food and essential items.
Urgent funding is needed so First Nations families and communities can have uninterrupted access to critical items like fresh food.
The Government must release of critical funding and urgently establish Supply Guarantees and subsidies for remote communities across the country.
