During both World Wars, First Nations people fought to protect Australia. And when they returned home, instead of being honoured, they had to keep fighting for recognition of their service from the RSL and the government.

Not only do these rules disrespect the memory of Aboriginal veterans and those who died while serving, but they perpetuate racism against Aboriginal people and the erasure of our history.

The RSL owes Aboriginal people the same recognition as other soldiers for the sacrifice they made. The discrimination they faced is a national shame – and that means backtracking on this racist policy. Anzac Day is just two months away, if thousands of us call this policy out, they'll be forced to act.

Sign the petition to stop the RSL banning Aboriginal culture. First Nations culture and history is part of this nation's history it cannot be banned.
