Ban battery cages -- for good
Battery hens live their lives in a space the size of a piece of paper. They lose their feathers, they have their beaks cut off, they are confined with dead chickens and they never, ever see sunlight. It's a miserable life.
Already, three quarters of Aussies buy free range eggs. Now it's time to ban the battery cage forever. Together, we can build an overwhelming call to ban battery cages.
To State and Federal Agriculture Ministers:
We call on you to permanently and enforceably ban the use of battery cages in Australia. We urge you to use the Poultry Code review to ban the use of battery cages and other cages in hen farming.
