EVENT NAME: SUNSHINE COAST RALLY FOR NATIONAL DAY OF CLIMATE ACTION. DATE AND TIME: 17-11-2013 - 10:00am - 11.30 am
Sunshine Coast residents from Glasshouse Mountains to Kenilworth and across to the coast are invited to the rally being organised by the Sunshine Coast Environment Council on 17 November to link with GetUp's National Day of Climate Action. Renowned Australian scientist Professor Ian Lowe will be speaking at the rally. Bring a blanket or chair and stay for a picnic in the park.
WEAR HOT SUMMER COLOURS. Think red, orange, yellow - shirts, clothes, signs, banners, facepaint, hats, umbrellas and any other creative ideas. Together we will turn up the heat on climate action! Also bring water, hat and sunscreen. Either on the day or before your event, make a sign that says “PLACENAME
wants climate action”.
We will have speakers, music, opportunities to make your own placards and are encouraging people to come by public transport so check out your train or bus timetables.
WE PLAN TO HOLD "AUSTRALIA'S BIGGEST HEATWAVE SINGALONG" so come along and enjoy the fun. We will also use the event as a fundraiser for NSW victims of bushfires.
