Urgent Moratorium to protect sacred sites!

Rio Tinto accused of allowing irreplaceable Indigenous artefacts to be dumped in rubbish tip Cultural vandals Rio Tinto are at it again.

Just over a year since they recklessly destroyed priceless 46,000 year old cultural heritage at Juukan Gorge in WA, it's just been revealed that Rio Tinto knowingly threw countless Guruma artefacts found in an 18,000 year old rock shelter into landfill.

Every day, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are fighting to protect country and culture - from destruction for private profit. Let's make one thing clear - this is cultural genocide.

Enough is enough. We need an urgent moratorium on any further destruction and new cultural heritage laws now.

✍️ SIGN THE PETITION NOW

To the Prime Minister, Scott Morrison

We demand an urgent moratorium to prevent the destruction of Aboriginal Sacred sites until there is a comprehensive review of the Aboriginal Heritage Act to strengthen the legislation.
