This story is so important. It's about a 23 year old woman named Abyan*, and how her horrific plight is exposing a deep flaw in Australia's treatment of women seeking safety.

After she fled war to seek safety in Australia, our government denied Abyan our protection, and sent her to Nauru. When she was allegedly raped on the island, our government failed to offer her the care and support she needed.

Now, 11 weeks pregnant as a result of her violent assault, she is seeking desperate medical care. Care that includes an abortion, which is illegal on the island.1

If the Turnbull government really care about women's rights, they cannot ignore Abyan's call.
