Live sheep exports must stop now
BREAKING! The ban on live exports has just passed the Senate.
We are one step closer to stopping the frying of Australian sheep in the live export trade.
The Bill now has to pass the House of Reps before it can become law. But we know that Scott Morrison will try to shut it down before it can even be debated.
This is our chance. We need to increase the pressure on Scott Morrison and the Minister for Agriculture, David Littleproud, so they will have no choice but to allow MPs to debate it.
Sheep on live export ships are not like other cargo — they breathe, they feel and they suffer.
The temperature on board these ships exceeds 50 degrees, and thousands of these gentle, social creatures are literally cooked to death – over a period of days.1.
Yet, despite this systematic suffering, Scott Morrison continues to justify his refusal to ban live sheep exports — even in the most brutal summer months.
We won't let them get away with it any longer. Can you take a stand for the thousands of sheep who suffer by adding your name the petition calling for the House to ban live exports?
