Meet Larissa, GetUp's new CEO
I'm excited to introduce myself to you. My name is Larrisa Baldwin and I am a proud Widjabul Wia-bul woman from Bundjalung Country. I'm GetUp's new CEO.
For the last 15 years I've been fighting for land rights and climate justice, organising communities, and building people-powered movements. At GetUp, I've worked with Traditional Owners and other communities on the frontline of fracking and I've seen the immense power of GetUp members to fight for change.
We are at a critical time in our history and politics. It's a crucial moment for First Nations justice, with truth-telling, treaty, and the referendum all on the agenda. We must also create opportunities for the Albanese Government to have greater ambition: on climate change and cutting fossil fuel pollution. On fighting for economic fairness, strengthening our public services, and ensuring that everyone can thrive.
I am excited to lead our movement into an ambitious, intersectional, and unstoppable new era. Here's a video I recorded to tell you a bit more about myself and the future we're fighting for: (You can also click here to view this video on YouTube.)
Can you chip in to support GetUp's work?
