Cost of living crisis: You are not alone!
Our Cost of Living Map is live today. Will you share it with your MP or Senator?
It's a compilation of our stories, sacrifice, and – most of all – strength
In every bill, every grocery store, and every decision, it's easy to feel that we're all alone carrying the full burden of the cost of living crisis. But if there's one truth the map shows us, it's that we are not alone.1
The timing of this map is no coincidence. We're putting our stories front and centre in the national spotlight today to coincide with the news about consumer price index rising – again.2
Right at the same time as corporations use this measure for inflation to justify greedy price gouging.
Will you share our stories and this map to your Senator/MP and demand for urgent solutions to the cost of living crisis?

There is no wrong way to do it, but here's some helpful hints to give you a sense of how your call will go and some of the things you might like to say:
Will you urgently call your senator or MP?
- Ring ring – A staffer will answer the phone. If you don't get through straight away, wait a moment and then try again, or try and call a different senator or Minister on your list of options for your area.
- Introduce yourself - Who you are? Are you a constituent? Where do you live? What do you do?
- Explain the reason for your call - Tell the staffer that you would like to talk to your Senator/MP about our cost of living map and the thousands of stories of how this crisis is being felt right across the country.
- Share your story - Explain why this is important to you with an example of how the cost of living crisis has impacted you. How you feel about rising petrol costs, price gouging by supermarket chains and lack of affordable rent. How it has affected your community, your state or us as a nation.
- Ask for a commitment - Ask the staffer if their office will commit to standing up to corporate greed from the likes of Coles, Woolworths, AGL and Origin Energy. They may or may not commit, but this will send a clear message that you're serious about holding them to account.
- Say thanks! - Thank them for taking the time to listen to you, and ask them to please pass your message onto your senator or MP.
