This weekend, Tony Abbott announced his government is going to "step up" to help Syrian refugees. The fine print? He's not planning to increase our refugee intake by a single person. Not one.

The additional Syrians allowed to resettle here will gain their right to life and happiness only after our Prime Minister has it taken from another person desperate for safety. It's a cruel and patronising response to the powerful cry for compassion being heard around Australia.
